Sleep Apnea

What is Sleep Apnea?

Sleep Apnea is a sleep disorder where a patient experience frequent interruptions in their breathing pattern from a few seconds to several minutes at night. These pauses in breathing can occur multiple times at night and can overtime lead to greater underlying risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.

There are three types of sleep apnea. Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and Central Sleep Apnea (CSA) are the most common. Some patients have a combination of the two which is called Complex Sleep Apnea.

Most people don’t know they have sleep apnea until a roommate or loved one notices their snoring or gasping for air throughout the night. You should contact our office if you experience any of these symptoms:

    • Snoring
    • Restless Sleep
    • Daytime sleepiness
    • Increased anxiety or depression
    • Weight Gain or weight loss

At Landmark Dental Studio we can effectively treat mild to moderate cases of sleep apnea to prevent it turning into a greater health concern. We will work with your PCP to conduct a sleep study then recommend the appropriate next steps such as creating a custom oral appliance.
