Preventative Exams
At Landmark Dental Studio we emphasize the importance of preventative dentistry. Preventing oral health issues is always better than treating problems as they occur. Even relatively minor tooth problems like cavities, teeth griding and gums loss can cause significant pain and if left untreated can lead to more serious issues.
Taking a proactive approach to your oral health can save you time and money while avoiding unnecessary problems. The foundation of a healthy smile begins with comprehensive at-home maintenance and in-office preventative treatment.
What to Expect during a Preventative Dental Exam
Regular dental exams are important for maintaining good oral health. They help detect and treat problems early before they become more serious. During a preventive dental exam, we will:
-
- Inspect your teeth and gums for signs of decay, gum disease, or other problems.
- Take X-rays to check for cavities or other problems that may not be visible during a visual exam.
- Offer advice on how to improve your oral health habits.
Preventive dental exams are typically recommended every six months. However, if you have a history of dental problems, you may need to see your dentist more often.
